There are many short and longer term positions—both full and part time, available throughout the year for students and non-students. We also hire many seasonal team members for back-to-school rush prior to each term. We only accept applications for positions we have open. Open positions are usually posted in our lobby and our website, as well as advertised in the Oregon Daily Emerald and the Eugene Register Guard.
The campus Duck Store and many of our Duck Store locations are open 7 days a week, during the summer, during certain observed UO holidays and during all UO term breaks. The Duck Store frequently needs our team members to be available to work during those times. Whenever possible we try to accommodate a student's class schedule, but we do require that students be willing to miss classes on the first two days of school of each term. We are closed on the following legal holidays: New Year's Day, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.
The starting wage for most positions is minimum wage per hour. Depending on regular hours worked and length of service, other benefits available include health insurance, sick pay, holiday pay, vacation pay, and 401k.
We pride ourselves on our ability to provide helpful, friendly, and efficient customer service. All team members must be able to help the Duck Store meet its goal in providing legendary customer care for University students, faculty and staff and for our community customers.
We're proud of our Team and Leadership approach to management of our store. The Duck Store has existed for over 80 years and has an important role in campus life. We encourage input, involvement and ideas from our team members. We firmly believe in acceptance of and respect for the diversity of all our team members. Providing a caring, personal environment for our customers and team members is very important to us.
